Interview with ASSOC. Prof. Dr. Winai Dahlan, Director of the Halal Science Center in Chulalongkorn University.
He was born in Bangkok, Thailand.
Currently, he is an Associate professor who has been involved with scientific training and has over 30 public researches that has been published in Thailand and overseas countries. It includes scientific articles and more than 2,000 pieces of nutrition and author of the weekly magazine issue 3 consecutive years since 1989.
Prof. Dr. Winai Dahlan is one of 500 Muslims who is named from Islamic party that has influenced the world most three consecutive years from around the world, and he is one of the 16 Muslims to effect from science and technology fields to the world from Thailand.

What is the worst thing in your life, and how did you conquer it?
In order to establish this centre, it took 20 years from 1994 to 2014. Also, all employees couldn’t be regular employees till July 2014.
How would you progress Thai Halal in the future after you opened?
Thai Halal food industry still has a potential to grow up in the future. World halal food market may open in both Muslim countries and foreign countries where Muslim people settle in its nation. Learning and creating for understanding about Halal foods is absolutely help in Thailand to prepare the ability to corporate with other countries in Asia where there are big Muslim population compared with other foreign Asian countries. Therefore, we ca share our ability in world Halal market.
All sectors should find the ways to encourage the next export sector to pay more attention to mark Halal certification which is processed by ASEAN where include top 10 countries holding 45% citizens are Muslims.
